Natural child-birth options

So my pregnancy saga continues…I wrote some about it in my older blog

I have recently joined these birthing classes called Hypnobirthing…the classes offer self-hypnosis as a way of pain-management during child birth.

I have a really cool instructor, Maureen, who is phenomenally knowledgable about everything in the child-birth arena….and she is so much fun to be around that I always end up finishing the class with much more energy than I come in with. Maureen showed us some cool child-birth videos and shared some concepts on tips/techniques during labor to make it less painful. I found them very useful. She also gave us CD’s to listen to everyday…these have an instructor guiding you so you learn to relax your body. I listen to these at night but the only problem is that so far, I have ended up sleeping half-way through the instructions.

Won’t it be fun if I did the same during my labor…just fall asleep and wake up when the baby is born? 🙂 Does any one have any experience with hypnobirthing? It would be interesting to exchange notes..

Thats a new thing to me..It would be awesome if you can fall asleep and have the baby..I think Csection people go through that..Any Csection people can object my opinion 🙂

Actually, I was just kidding… even if it were possible, I’d not want that. Now a days, we give birth max two or three times in our lives (on an avg). What a pity it’d be if I were knocked out when my baby arrived in this world. I’d want to hear his/her first cry, hold the baby etc. etc.
that’s a pretty special moment don’t you think? Espcially since after that, it only gets into more routine and boring things like changing diapers and living in a sleep-deprived mode for the next several months 🙂

I like this whole concept. I had heard of it but had been scared of it.

Hmm…that’s interesting…would you mind sharing why you were scared of the concept?
