Some Indian and Vegetarian Baby Food Recipes
I used to be confused as to what Indain baby food I can for my babe. Indian baby food in my opinion would introduce him to a different taste that he was getting from gerber. And for those looking for Vegetarian baby and toddler food alternatives, these can work too. Of course, check with your doc on ingredients if you have concerns. This is a copy paste from an email from my mom back in India.

Is Semolina dessert for the baby or for us? Looks good for us too….
Thank you all for your comments.Smitha, I like the dessert for myself too. And Lydia, I frequently used Gerber myself
hi priya.actually i stay in africa. and here only masoor dal is avaiable. so pl advice me is masoor dal good for 1yr old baby.
This recipe is for Masoor daal only. I have always given it, and know people who have but if you have doubt, please check with the doctor. You can also start off by straining the dal and just giving the water from the dal and straining out the roughage. Then as he gets used to it, you can start adding the dal roughage back in small quantities. Even the water is very nutritous.
i think lydia is Lazy…
hey Khushi, thanks for the recipe. Though i have never tried Masoor dal, I always used Moong or Toor Dal. That taste good too. Iam going to try your recipe today..thanks again.

Hi. When is it safe to introduce lentils and dal.
In India we start around 6 months but it has to be thoroughly boiled. Check with your doctor and even then give very small amount.
Are you online? Can I email you?
