South indian chicken Curry Recipe

This is the Chicken Curry I always make . It turns out very good. Try it out. My kids loves it as both of them likes spicy food. I get the whole chicken from Publix. Did you know that if you give it to the publix butcher he will cut it very small pieces for you? Its really easy to cook when they do that..

Ingredients

Onion 1 cup
Tomato 1
Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
Curry leave
Ginger 1 tsp
garlic 1 tsp
Chicken -1 pound

Spices

1.Chilli powder 1 tablespoon(add more if you like it very spicy)
2.corriander powder 2 tablespoon
3.Chicken masala 2 tablespoon

How to make it

1.Add oil in a pan
2.Splutter the mustard seeds
3.Add the curry leaves
4.Add ginger and garlic and fry for 1 minute
5.Add all the spices
6.Make sure it mixes well with the onions..
7.Add the chicken
8. Fry it for 2 to 3 minutes
9. Add water and cover it
10.Cook it for 15 min med/high heat
11.Add the tomato..
12.Cook it another 15 min on medium heat..

Enjoy 🙂

    Hi Smitha,

I have never made chicken at home (being brought up in a veggie family) but would like to try this out…I don’t know what kind of chicken I should buy. Can you help me with that?

Maya, I would say buy Organic chicken. I prefer those – boneless, skinless chicken breast if you dont like bones, though some people prefer whole chicken.

smitha, this sounds really good. I will try it. Can you also post some South Indian baby food recipes?
